CSHM's Great Loss

It is with deep regret and sorrow that we are announcing the loss of our Medical Director Dr. Nicandros Papaminas. Dr. Papaminas was a brilliant hematologist who dedicated his life in caring for patients who suffered from leukemia. He served as the Medical Director of the Cyprus Bone Marrow Donor Registry from its inception and he was one of the founding members of the Center for the Study of Haematological Malignancies. He was a physician of great respect, a man with the vision of making the world for the patients better, a man with unlimited passion for his work but above all a man of ethos. He was our mentor, our inspirer, our guide to reach our goal of providing the hope of life to patients with hematological malignancies. Dr. Papaminas’s death from cancer on Sunday 20th March 2011 has left us with the promise to work harder towards our goal.
